 Gallery North's Community Art Center offers classes for students between the ages of 2 and 12 years. They are designed to give children an enriching and exciting studio experience. Our many talented art educators expose students to new mediums and techniques through a variety of unique workshops. Classes are differentiated based on skill level and one-to-one mentoring guides students of all abilities to achieve success.

ArtVentures Makers Week!!

Winter Break Half-Day Workshop

Don't spend winter break out in the cold! Join us for our first winter session of ArtVentures! If your child has enjoyed our summer session they will have a wonderful time creating and discovering with us during Makers Week!

Calling All Makers!!!

Explore fine art through building, exploring and collaboration. During this week long, half-day workshop, students will work with some of Long Island's best artists and educators. Build with cardboard, create prototypes for potential inventions, and develop out-of-the-box ideas. All materials and supplies provided. Snack to be served to fuel creative minds.

Experiment, Imagine, Create

Classes for Adult and child

Saturdays: Pop-ins Welcome!!


Ages 2-6 years old

Cost: $25 per adult & child pair all materials included


Each week will be inspired by a theme deriving from the Elements of Art.

The class will begin  with circle time where we will read a book, sing a song or view a video/app that pertains to the creative lesson to come. Each lesson is a sensory experience helping our young artists to develop their dexterity and fine motor coordination. Adults are encouraged to create along side their toddler and will be given tips on how to foster the create experience at home.  

Projects will include a variety of mediums including paint, clay and collage, with fun filled activities that teach the fundamentals of color, shape, line, form and composition.

Art Ventures 

Explore, Create, Discover

Research shows, nurturing a child's creativity builds self confidence. Through art they learn to problem solve and communicate, while collaborating with others to create amazing things. In ArtVentures, students will explore a variety of techniques while discovering and experimenting with unique materials; drawing inspiration from the gallery exhibitions and elements of art.

Each week will be inspired by a theme derived from the Elements of Art, a time in History or a current gallery exhibition:

ArtVentures: Fiber Arts!

Join us for this session of ArtVentures where artist Larissa Grass will explore fiber arts with the students. Learn the ins and outs of sewing & weaving. This is a three week class meeting on Saturdays in January. All materials included. Snack to be served to fuel creative minds.

ArtVentures Summer Program: Puppet Theater 2018!

Instructor: Margaret Zubarriain

August 6th - 10th


Ages 6-11 years

Make and star in your own outdoor puppet show! Learn to build puppets and write your very own story in front of scenery you made.

Teaching artist, Margaret Zubarriain, worked at the Jim Henson Creature Workshop where she learned all about puppet and prop building! She will lead the group through all aspects of puppetry such as all types of puppet building, creating props and sets, writing stories, and performing.
