 Gallery North's Community Art Center offers classes for students between the ages of 2 and 12 years. They are designed to give children an enriching and exciting studio experience. Our many talented art educators expose students to new mediums and techniques through a variety of unique workshops. Classes are differentiated based on skill level and one-to-one mentoring guides students of all abilities to achieve success.

Classes for Adult and child

Saturdays: Pop-ins Welcome!!

10am-11am

Cost: $25 per class, materials included

 

Each week will be inspired by a theme deriving from the Elements of Art.

The class will begin  with circle time where we will read a book, sing a song or view a video/app that pertains to the creative lesson to come. Each lesson is a sensory experience helping our young artists to develop their dexterity and fine motor coordination. Adults are encouraged to create along side their toddler and will be given tips on how to foster the create experience at home.  

Projects will include a variety of mediums including paint, clay and collage, with fun filled activities that teach the fundamentals of color, shape, line, form and composition.

October 7: Explore collage while learning about the work of Eric Carle.

October 14th: Explore organic shapes while making a Fall collage Matisse style!

Art Ventures 

Explore, Create, Discover

11 am - 1 pm

Ages 7 - 12

Cost: $25 per class, materials included

Research shows, nurturing a child's creativity builds self confidence. Through art they learn to problem solve and communicate, while collaborating with others to create amazing things. In ArtVentures, students will explore a variety of techniques while discovering and experimenting with unique materials; drawing inspiration from the gallery exhibitions and elements of art.

Each week will be inspired by a theme derived from the Elements of Art, a time in History or a current gallery exhibition: 

October 7: Printmaking!! Learn about our print shop and explore the many ways a printmaker works while creating your own prints.

October 14: Create Sugar Skull Prints for the upcoming Dia de los Muertos! 

October 28: Join artist Andrea Baatz as she explores printing with fruits and veggies! Each student will create a unique print of a creature using veggies a fruit prints.
